What Should You Expect On Your First Visit With Us?

Our examination procedures are aimed at detection and correction of the “Vertebral Subluxation”. The procedures used at our office are specifically chosen for your spine and nervous system health. When you first visit our chiropractic clinic, there are a few things you can expect.

Our examination entails a thorough spinal and nervous system exam including “Palpation”. Simply put, Palpation involves your doctor checking your spine by hand. During this exam, your doctor is able to feel areas of your spine that may be involved with subluxations problems. Since spinal position, curvatures and muscle tone relate to possible spinal subluxations they can also be examined. In order to access your spine and nervous system easier, your examination may consist of some specialized equipment. There are multiple components involved in this examination.

Reading spinal heat differences from one level of the spine to another, and from one side of the spine to the other may be involved during the first part of this examination process. Heat is a by-product of circulation, which is controlled by the autonomic nervous system. As a result, we can determine how subluxation may be affecting these functions of your nervous system.

Scans can be performed on the surface of your spinal area to assess surface electrical impulses and measure them along your spine during the second part of this examination. This allows us to measure the effect of subluxation on the motor nerve system and the affect subluxations may be having on your muscles.

The significance of each test will be explained to you at your Report of Findings. With that said, it is important to mention that this examination helps to scientifically understand the subluxation processes occurring in your spine. Additionally, it provides a guideline for future tests so we can accurately measure your progress to determine how the spine is correcting and your nervous system is functioning. These examination procedures are highly precise and more effective than just relying on “how you feel” on any given day.
